My name is Adam Bennett and I have recently ascertained that a number of my ancestors lived in Cople for many years.
The earliest record I have is John Bennett who married Ann Foskett in Cople in May 1788, the pair of them being blessed with at least 14 children all of whom were christened in Cople and many of which later married into other local families such as the Berry's, Peer's and Summerfield's.

My brother and I are currently researching our family tree. We have a number of ancestors in and around Cople: Berry, Foskett and Summerfield. Thomas Summerfield (b. 1820) is our Great-great grandfather. We'd be very interested in meeting up to discuss our families. We have managed to get back to William Summerfield (1732-1791), William Berry (mid 18th) and William Foxcotte (d. 1425). Foxcotte/Foscott became Foskett in the the 1500s.
